My painting 'By The Sea' captures the quintessential summer day at the beach. It's a scene that many of us are familiar with and one that evokes a sense of relaxation and joy. The sandy beach is a place of tranquillity, where the worries of the world seem to wash away with the ebbing tide. The deep blue sea is both a playground and a place of mystery, inviting the brave to explore its depths and the rest to admire its vastness from the shore. In this painting I depicted people enjoying the simple pleasures of a beach day. Some are seated, perhaps chatting, reading, or simply soaking in the sun's warm rays. Others are more adventurous, diving into the cool embrace of the sea, swimming and frolicking in the water. In the distance are boats with white sails. Above them, the light blue sky hints at the infinite space beyond. My choice of colours is deliberate, with the deep blue representing the sea's depth and stability, while the light blue sky suggests a sense of calm and openness. The sandy beach, with its neutral tones, serves as the perfect contrast, grounding the scene and giving it a sense of place. 'By The Sea' is more than just a painting; it's a reminder of the timeless allure of the seaside. It's a tribute to those summer days that we wish could last forever, where the only thing on the agenda is to be present in the moment. It's a celebration of summer, of life, and of the moments that make us feel truly alive.
