As the Summer comes to an end I'm adding this colourful painting I did of a local field of vibrant Sunflowers...
My painting “Field of Wheat and Poppies” is featured in the "New This Week Collection" and on Saatchi Art Social Media.
This Collection is curated by Rebecca Wilson, the Chief Curator, VP and Art Advisory at Saatchi... "Is your art collection missing a fresh abstract? Or maybe a figurative or landscape? Perhaps something that's a little less easy to define? Fall in love with one of the original works in this newly curated collection." My abstract flower painting is featured in Singulart's 2020 Catalogue Collection...
I'm pleased to see my painting “Wheat Field with Poppies” featured in "Best of 2020: Mid-Year Report" at Saatchi Art Gallery.
This Collection is curated by Rebecca Wilson, the Chief Curator, VP and Art Advisory at Saatchi... "Wheat Field with Poppies" is an original abstract style, oil painting on canvas, of a wheat field with red poppies. The edges of the canvas are painted white so the art is ready to hang without framing if required... Three of my seascape paintings are featured in 'By The Sea' curated collection at Singulart Gallery, Paris, France...
"A walk on the beach, the sound of the waves, sand between your toes and children building castles. On summer days the sea is a wonderful place to cool off and spend time with family and friends. Even in the evening or on cold days promenaders are drawn to the beach. When it is calm, the sea can radiate an infinite peace and washes away unpleasant thoughts. The sea has always been a great inspiration for many artists and fascinates with its infinite power and vastness. In art and poetry it symbolizes longing, departure, natural power and harmony. Discover the sea in its diversity in this collection"... 'Distant Sails' is a new painting and is popular on social media! This is an original oil painting of sailing boats in the distance, making their way back to the harbour, with the colours of early evening sky above. The two piers of the harbour and the lighthouses can also be seen. The style of the painting is abstract... READY TO HANG: The edges of the canvas are painted white so this painting is ready to hang without framing if required.
Pleased to see “Poppy Field" featured in a new collection, 'Inspired by Van Gogh,' at Saatchi Art Gallery... 'Vincent Van Gogh is undoubtedly one of the most influential artists of the 20th Century. His bold, gestural brush strokes and emotive, often personal, subject matter inspired the Abstract Expressionists of the 1940s and 50s (Willem de Kooning and Jackson Pollack to name a few) and had an undeniable impact on modern art.' This collection is curated by Aurora Garrison Assistant Curator at Saatchi...
I'm happy to be featured in Singulart Magazine's "5 Irish Artists to Discover"... 'In light of the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, Singulart would like to highlight five Irish artists whose art inspires and touches us. This national holiday celebrates the patron saint of Ireland, St. Patrick, but celebrates the heritage and culture of the Irish in general. Inspired by the festivities, we highlighted the portfolio of five artists hailing from the Emerald Isle. Discover nostalgic landscapes, self-questioning portraits and powerful abstracts.' « Layer by layer, colour by colour, I paint the essence, spirit, and energy of the world around me. » Kirstin McCoy is an Irish painter who lives and works in the South of France. Influenced by the Impressionists, Expressionists and Fauvists, her canvases capture the wonders of nature, flora and fauna, under the brilliant “southern light”. This is coupled with seascapes from the blue waters of the Mediterranean sea. McCoy employs both palette knives and brushes to achieve her painterly surface. This energy and dynamism is paired with a vivid colour palette to capture the essence, spirit and energy of the world around her. She believes in the expressive power of colour, taking her inspiration from the likes of Henri Matisse, Vincent Van Gogh and David Hockney. Pleased to see my painting “Pilgrim Path" is the featured artwork at Saatchi Art Gallery for St Patrick's Day... 'Croagh Patrick Mountain is a place of ancient history—the tradition of pilgrimage to St Patrick’s sacred mountain stretches back over 5,000 years and Kirstin McCoy's oil painting beautifully captures the pilgrim's path to it. Happy St Patricks Day!' This painting is also on Saatchi social media...
